9th Grade World Geography

In Mrs. Chrestman's World Geography class, ninth-grade students explored how geography and the environment shaped the lives of early North Americans. Working together in small groups, students researched the Ancestral Puebloans, Mississippian Culture, and Iroquois League to discover how each society adapted to its unique regional landscape. Through creative visuals, research, and class presentations, students uncovered how geography influenced key aspects of daily life—such as housing, economy, and community organization. This project not only deepened students’ appreciation for the diversity of early North American cultures but also strengthened their collaboration, critical thinking, and communication skills.
