The Lee Academy 8th Grade Girls Leadership Class recently focused on service in class.
Students were encouraged to think of ideas that could help make our community a better place to live. Some of the girls' ideas included cleaning up deteriorating buildings downtown along with organizing clean-up projects, and creating safe activities and opportunities for local youth. A few students stressed the importance of kindness by saying, "If we want to make a place like Clarksdale a better place to live, we must first start with our hearts." One student followed through with her ideas and made a prayer mirror in the girls' student restroom at school.
We are so proud of these young ladies and their desire and heart for service.
